SNO–MAN {Simply Number One, Man}, (taken as a nickname from his real name Marcus Colbert) was born in Ft. Belvoir, VA. and raised in Chicago, IL. As the son of a Sergeant Major in the United States Army, he has been fortunate to travel through out the United States and Europe. This exposure to different cultures allowed him to experience diverse music at an early age. He began taking an interest in mixing records and creating beats during the early years of break dancing and that interest manifested into writing rhymes, djing and dancing. All the elements of Hip Hop embodied in this future producer. Through out elementary school and high school, SNO-MAN continued honing his skills as much as he could by spending time in the music rooms of his schools. He performed in local bands, wrote music and won several talent shows as part of various rap groups. During his senior year of high school, SNO-MAN moved to Texas during his last year, he interned at a recoding studio, learning first hand the various techniques of recording and engineering. After graduating high school and enrolling in college, SNO-MAN was a personality/DJ on San Antonio’s first Hip Hop radio show which aired on the college station 90.1 FM, KSYM. Between classes, recording/producing local artists and showcasing his own rap group, he and his crew landed a recording contract with an independent label based out of Los Angeles, CA. The rap grouped performed as opening acts for variety of Hip Hop pioneers during the mid 90’s. (YZ, Kwame, Father MC, MC Lyte, Cypress Hill and Ice Cube). With mediocre sales and poor distribution, the group eventually disbanded and members went on separate ways.

After a lengthy hiatus to pursue other interests, SNO-MAN is unleashing some of his best work that ranges from Dance & Techno to Hip Hop and R&B. His musical influences growing up Herbie Hancock, George Clinton, Parliament Funkadelic, DJ Premier, Jungle Brothers, James Brown, Miles Davis and Quincy Jones can be heard in the essence of his music.
